5th Grade Curriculum
Project Overview
In this project, we were required to create a chemistry curriculum for 5th graders. To do this, I partnered up with Austin, Scottie, and Jonathan. We brainstormed about how to go about this project. We ended up first looking at the current California standards for Chemistry. We then used the requirements in the standards to formulate our own cirriculum.

Final Result
In the end, this is what we came up with. In total, we had 1 teacher demo, 3 student activities, 5 labs, and a cumulative quiz on the topics covered. The specifics of these topics can be found in the following documents. The power point is not very informative because it was designed to be a presentation.

Reflection
By completing this project, I learned about what goes into creating a curriculum. It helped me find methods and manners of learning. It taught me the stages of learning - primarily that I think the best way to learn is through evidence, then projects, and then re-enforcing evidence that thoroughly explains the topic in discussion. I think we embodied that idea in our own curriculum because we included many visual demonstrations, such as labs, teacher presentations, and activities. This project helped not only 5th graders who need a better understanding of science, but it helped me to understand want process in which I learn the most from
